The Kanien’kehá:ka Onkwawén:na Raotitióhkwa Language & Cultural Center and its partners (‘the Building Committee’) have made the commitment to replace two (2) trees for every one (1) tree removed for the new Kahnawà:ke Cultural Arts Center site.
The community is being asked for ideas on where trees are needed and what types of trees should be planted. The Team is working on returning about 1200 trees throughout the community. This will include the trees that will be replaced at the site.
The Project Team has discussed ideas with the Kahnawà:ke Survival School. It has been identified that trees for community members’ property are needed, as some have none.
If community members have ideas, please contact Project Team Member Trina C. Diabo at [email protected].
