The Kanien’kehá:ka Onkwawén:na Raotitióhkwa Language & Cultural Center and its partners (‘the Building Committee’) have collaborated with the Kahnawà:ke Survival School Students and Staff to transplant seventy-four (74) preserved trees from the new Kahnawà:ke Cultural Arts Center site.
An Arborist will assist and teach the students the proper way to transplant the trees and care for them afterward. They will also talk about ecology, plant communities, the changing landscape, climate change, and whatever the students are most interested in learning more about.
Hopefully, it will be a beautiful day. A light rain is good for planting, but if it is too heavy, this event will happen on Tuesday, May 7th. If community members have any questions, please contact Trina C. Diabo at 514-779-4756 on behalf of the Project Team.
